It gives me an immense pleasure to welcome you all to Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education (CPDHE), University of Delhi. CPDHE, as the name rightly suggests, it provides a platform, wherein, the teachers get the opportunity through various Refresher/Orientation programmes and Workshops that it organizes time to time, the opportunity to update their respective disciplines. It was set up by the University alike other Academic Staff Colleges established by UGC across the country with a vision to develop the quality of higher education by promoting professional excellence with advancement in pedagogical skills, knowledge upgradation and inculcation of high standards of thought and practice in its teacher participants. Higher Education today, demands an altogether different approach as compared to the earlier times. The Centre ensures that the participants of its various courses and programmes develop an understanding of various challenges before academics in the present globalized world while upgrading their competence and knowledge base in different fields of learning.

CPDHE recognizes its responsibility towards developing an inclusive approach with special emphasis on gender sensitivity in its participants. Through analyzing various documentaries and films, reading material and discussions with resource persons, our participants learn to appreciate the value of diversity, nation building, social justice and gender equality in society. Continuous efforts are made to invite eminent scholars in different fields to share their knowledge and expertise with our participants. Our courses are further enriched by incorporating training and lectures focusing on linguistic skills, communication aspects and personality development sessions etc.

The Centre also adheres to UGC guidelines in its functioning and implementation in its programmes and courses. All kinds of technological and modern facilities are provided to our participants and resource persons. We have well equipped classrooms with access to a computer lab, library and guest house facilities as well.
